Psychological support
My approach in psychological conversations is grounded in presence, self-compassion, and the capacity to meet what is felt, rather than avoiding it. I am particularly inspired by Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness, and affect-focused therapy, where coming into contact with and understanding one’s emotions is seen as central to psychological development and sustainable change.
In the conversations, there is space to explore both inner experiences and outer life situations, with a focus on developing a kinder, more flexible, and more conscious way of relating to oneself and one’s experiences. For many, this involves learning to be with stress, uncertainty, demands, relationships, or difficult emotions without becoming stuck in struggle or avoidance.
Sport psychology perspectives are included as a supportive framework, not primarily for performance, but to understand engagement, motivation, recovery, and sustainability in a broader life perspective.
What the conversations may include
In our work, we may for example:
- deepen presence and psychological flexibility in everyday life
- work with self-compassion and a more accepting attitude towards yourself
- reflect on stress, recovery, and life balance
- explore what is important to you and how you want to live in line with your values
- explore aspects of yourself that you have not yet fully come into contact with or understood
How the conversations are shaped
The conversations are relational and process-oriented. This means they are shaped together, based on your needs, pace, and what feels meaningful to you at the present moment. For some, this involves a few conversations around a specific theme; for others, a longer collaboration following an ongoing process.
Safety within the working alliance is central. It is in the trusting encounter that space is created to approach what might otherwise be difficult to stay with or put into words.
Digital and in-person
Sessions can be conducted both digitally, for example via Zoom, and in person in Gothenburg.
Digital sessions may be a good option if you live elsewhere or have a busy everyday life.
What a collaboration may look like
A collaboration at Sportfeedback is shaped in dialogue and adapted to your needs, life situation and the context you are in.
For some, this means a more long-term and low-intensity support, with sessions spaced further apart and serving as a space for reflection, recovery and self-regulation over time. For others, it may involve a more intensive arrangement during a limited period, for example in connection with phases of development, change or specific challenges.
The collaboration may consist of psychological conversations, elements of mindfulness and self-regulation, and when relevant also be complemented with neurofeedback. The structure is continuously adjusted based on how the process develops and how you experience the work.
Common to all collaborations is a focus on a safe working alliance, psychological flexibility, and creating sustainable changes that can be integrated into everyday life, rather than quick fixes.
Scope and boundaries
The psychological conversations offered here are not psychiatric treatment.
If there is a need for specialised psychiatric care or in cases of serious mental ill health, it is important to seek support within the healthcare system.
